Charles & Ray Eames
La Chaise was designed by Charles and Ray Eames' in 1948 for a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Charles and Ray Eames were inspired by the "Floating Figure" sculptured by Gaston Lachaise. It is an elegant and assertive seating sculpture that makes sitting or reclining a positive joy. It has long since established itself as an icon of Organic Design. |
